2700 Thai-made Honda City cars to be recalledA total of 2,700 Honda City cars sold in Thailand in 2008 will be recalled, said Adisak Rohitasune, senior vice president of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd. No mechanical irregularities were reported in Thailand, according to the company, but because a specific mechanism has misfunctioned elsewhere, Honda is effecting its recall in Thaiand as well. The planned recall of Honda City cars in Thailand came after Honda announced a global recall of 646,000 Honda ‘Jazz’ and ‘City’ cars manufactured between 2007 and 2008 in Brazil, Japan, China, Malaysia, India and Thailand due to defective window switches.

Mitsubishi in Thailand expansion
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has announced a plan to invest 15 billion baht in a new eco-car manufacturing plant in Chon Buri, scheduled for completion over the next two years. The outlay includes the cost of land near its existing factory in Laem Chabang, according to Mitsubishi becomes the third automaker in the past two weeks to announce a major expansion, following Ford Motor and Toyota Motor, further stimulating an industry that has been recovering steadily after last year's slump triggered by the global financial crisis. The new investment will be Mitsubishi Motors' largest ever in Thailand and the new plant will be its largest facility outside Japan. Toyota Corolla Hybrid Made in Thailand
Toyota continues its green plans in Thailand with a new hybrid. This time it's Corolla'sturn to become more environmentally friendly as the Japanese manufacturer is reportedly working on a hybrid version of this particular model.
